Intro to Anchor Building

Building strong and secure anchors is the cornerstone to safe rock climbing. Having the foundational theory on building safe anchors and personalized practice will take you from a novice climber to a confident intermediate.

In this course, you will learn:

  • how to evaluate rock climbing anchors

  • building a variety of multiple point climbing anchors

  • knots used in anchor construction

  • equipment needed to build anchors

  • to identify, assess, and mitigate climbing hazards

  • rope management, both while climbing and on the ground
